Pastor and faith healer, author, and television host, Chris Oyakhilome is known to his fans as Pastor Chris, is the president and founder of LoveWorld Incorporated, also known as Christ Embassy, based in Lagos, Nigeria. Pastor Chris Oyakhilome was a child of faith, who was raised in a loving family and was supported by his parents. He is the oldest child of Elder T.E Oyakhilome and Angelina Oyakhilome. She was a pioneer of the Assemblies of God Church in Benin City and a matriarch of the Oyakhilome families, who passed her divine grace on her son at an early stage.
The LoveWorld ministry includes the entire family. His brother Reverend Ken, is the esteemed pastor of Christ Embassy’s Houston, Texas Church and is a member of the Christ Embassy Central Executive Council and his sister, KattyWorghiren, is the director of the LoveWorld Music and Arts Ministry (LMAM), which houses a variety of global best-selling gospel artists.
Pastor Chris is blessed with two daughters, Charlene and Carissa Sharon. Carissa Sharon chose to follow her father’s lead of sharing God’s Word to all people. The name is CSO (Community Service Organization), she is a skilled gospel artist and is a part of the LoveWorld Music and Arts community.
Pastor Chris Oyakhilome started his studies in Edo College. After a scholarship was awarded to study the field of architecture at Bendel State University (now Ambrose Ali University) and he received an BSc degree in Architecture as well as an honorary Doctor of Science. Additionally, he holds an honorary doctorate in divinity from Benson Idahosa University. Ambrose Ali University was his first university. He received his calling from God to enter the ministry and to serve the Lord.
Pastor Chris: A Mentor
While still in university, the Man of God began what would be the largest church worldwide. It began with an uninvolved group of believers known as ‘Youth for Christ’. The group would eventually become the foundation for LoveWorld Incorporated and Christ Embassy with a later number of millions of followers worldwide.
Under the leadership of Pastor Chris, LoveWorld became a pioneer of satellite television and Christian programming. Oyakhilome LoveWorldSAT became the first Christian television channel to broadcast 24 hours a day from Africa through free-to-air networks. There are LoveWorld satellite and cable television stations across the globe.
Christ Embassy has strong presences in Pastor Chris’s homeland of Nigeria as well as South Africa, Canada, the United Kingdom and the United States. The church operates two Healing Schools that are located in South Africa and Canada, where Pastor Chris organizes seasonal sessions during which the power of God is demonstrated.
