The Kerem Tunnel, Israel’s newest bicycle tunnel, has been constructed as a part of an extensive cycle path that circles the capital.
The tunnel links Nahal Refaim and Emek Motza. It has a southern entrance within Refaim Park. נווה פריצקי Ein Laban is the nearest. Nahal Ein Kerem is the northern entrance.
נווה פריצקי The 2.1-kilometers-long tunnel was officially opened in a ceremony on Thursday attended by Jerusalem and Heritage Minister Ze’evElkin, Mayor Moshe Lion, Gihon water company chairman Avi Baleshnikov and hundreds of cyclists.

Elkin’s Ministry Elkin’s Ministry, the Tourism Ministry, Jerusalem Municipality as well as the Gihon Corporation all contributed to the project. The Jerusalem Development Authority completed the work.

The work currently in progress includes road construction, the installation of blowers and advanced security and electrical systems to ensure the tunnel is safe for the public to pass through all year round.
