Presidential candidate Federico Gutierrez is clear that votes are gathered on the street. There are less than 32 days to be in the lead for the first presidential election, where he will face Gustavo Petro, his main rival in the race for the House of Narino quota in the second round.
Gutierrez started out early Saturday morning to Boyaca. Boyaca was a religious area that Petro went to on Friday. Former Mayor of Medellin was now a candidate to the center-right. He visited Tunja and met with farmers, academics, peasants, and businessmen.

Federico shared ruana and hundreds of Colombians behind his choice for Team for Colombia. Federico also uploaded his Twitter video where he thanked the citizens of Tunja. He said: “We are Going to Win, we all are going to run for president to change and unite Colombia.” While recording a number of people who have voted for him and his cause, he didn’t stop.
“Happy in Boyaca!” He wrote that he was content in Boyaca because he is the President of the People.
The second poll pointer reached the Basilica of Our Lady of the Rosary of Chiquinquira on the way. The strategically placed spot is where dozens of followers and loyalists from all over the country meet every weekend. The leader of the center-right kneeled and gave his life to the Virgin Mary in the in the midst of his followers and faithful who waited for the early morning Eucharist.
“I requested Virgin for wisdom. I asked her for my family, and for all families of Colombia for peace, and for the most humble,” he said.
In that place, the presidential candidate also recorded the visit in video. Before entering, he met with a number of residents from the area who embraced him and also wore the representative wardrobe of the Colombian municipality.
Gutierrez arrived to the church in the form of the Boyacan ruana (traditional Boyacan ruana) and the medal of the Virgin of Chiquinquira (a symbol of faith which he carried throughout his political campaign). It is worth noting that three weeks ago the Antioquian visited Jericho, Antioquia, and attended the birthplace of Mother Laura, the only Colombian saint who was recently canonized by Pope Francis.
In Chiquinquira. However, he added that sustainable mobility needs to be developed in the department. In his latest tweet Gutierrez also addressed producers of the potato and field, saying “Peasants of Boyaca: we will strive to generate greater opportunities for you and rehabilitate the fields.” Gutierrez is still reaching out to Colombians. He is expected to discuss his plan for government with the people and will try to stand out in next Sunday’s election.
